Sacrificing our children on the altar: The American Molech

"I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live." -Deuteronomy 30:19

In ancient days, parents used to sacrifice their children to the god, Molech, in order to obtain his favor and receive his blessings of money, health, fertility, good crops, etc. While we would all gasp at the horribleness of such a practice now, the reality is we are still doing the same thing today. We are sacrificing our children for the exact same things: money, health (whether that be of the child, parent, or society as a whole), fertility, etc.

Don't believe me? Over the next few posts, I'm going to be writing about the ways we put our children on the altar to obtain these things, as well as how doing so is, in fact, futile. Many of the arguments I will make are personal convictions of mine, but they are also scientific fact. As theological issues are either ignored or ridiculed even by those who claim to be of the same faith, I will be presenting my arguments using primarily science. I have been accused in the past of being "brainwashed", "ignorant", and "uneducated" when it comes to these issues As I was unresearched on the issues personally, I have decided to to put in my time not only for your benefit, but for myself as well.

I am not writing this to cause contention, to argue with those of different opinions than mine, or to stir up trouble. I am writing this because I cannot sit back and say nothing on a good conscience. These are, indeed, matters of life and death, and I am choosing life for my benefit and the benefit of the generations to come. If no one ever reads this, I will have still said something and that is all I am aiming for.
